As the ultimate decision-maker for your organization, your governing body needs to understand compliance and appreciate the compliance risks facing the organization as well as what is needed to mitigate those risks. This requires more than just annual updates or new board member trainings. In its General Compliance Program Guidance, the Office of Inspector General recommends compliance officers meet with the governing body routinely and at least quarterly.

But, how often should you meet and what should you talk to this group about? What should you do if you encounter resistance or your governing body doesn’t even meet quarterly? Check out this week’s podcast for answers to these questions and more!
