The Trump Administration recently lifted previous guidelines that limited immigration enforcement actions in or near areas designated as “sensitive,” including hospitals. Immigration enforcement efforts raise unique issues in healthcare settings, including patient privacy concerns. Enforcement efforts can also expand beyond the initial inquiry or involve employees or patient caregivers. This week my colleague, Elizabeth Van Arkel, joins me to discuss how providers can prepare for ICE and what to do if ICE does show up at your facility.
